Feb 10, 2020 1:37 PM

Softbank-backed Indian ride-hailing app Ola on Monday rolled out its service in London. The company said it wants to be the market leader in the UK capital.

Simon Smith, international head of Ola, said the unicorn has got 25000 drivers signed up for its platform which went live this morning.

The company said the number of customer downloads have been in 6 figures already.

He further added: "We have been advertising heavily for the last couple of weeks and I think a 6 figure customer base is a very good start."

"We have the best drivers, we have got partnerships with three large British companies to ensure that our drivers are great drivers, have excellent spoken English skills and also a fantastic customer service mindset."

In addition, according to Ola, it will take some technologies from India which are a first in this market. Things like one-time password when you get into the car, the guardian feature which uses artificial intelligence to make sure that you are on the right trip.

OLA said that it is introducing 24x7 telephone support for both drivers and customers.
