09:13 AM EDT, 09/18/2025 (MT Newswires) -- Rigetti Computing ( RGTI ) said Thursday it received a $5.8 million three-year contract from the Air Force Research Laboratory to advance superconducting quantum networking.

Rigetti said it will collaborate with Dutch quantum technology startup QphoX on the project, which aims to develop systems that provide entanglement between superconducting qubits and optical photons.

The companies plan to integrate Rigetti's superconducting microwave qubits with single-photon microwave-optical transducers developed by QphoX, Rigetti said.

Rigetti shares were up 3.4% in recent Thursday premarket activity.
