03:33 AM EST, 11/14/2025 (MT Newswires) -- Rio Tinto (RIO) said late Thursday its Kennecott operation entered into a 15-year agreement with TerraGen to purchase renewable energy from a recently completed wind farm in Texas.

As part of the agreement, the company will purchase 78.5 megawatts of renewable energy generated by TerraGen's 238.5 MW Monte Cristo I windpower project.

Financial terms of the deal weren't disclosed.
