08:17 AM EDT, 07/17/2025 (MT Newswires) -- Roblox ( RBLX ) said Thursday that it has launched a new set of tools designed to improve digital communication and safety on its videogame platform, with a focus on age-based features and parental oversight.

The company said key updates include the launch of the 'Trusted Connections' tool that allows users aged 13 and older to chat more freely with people they know in real life.

As part of the update, Roblox ( RBLX ) is adding safeguards to ensure teens aged 13 to 17 can only add adult users as trusted connections if they know them in real life, the company said.

The company said all conversations between trusted connections continue to be monitored for harmful content to maintain a safe environment.

For teen parents, Roblox ( RBLX ) said it offers new insights into their child's activity on the platform, including who their child is connected with, how much time they're online, and spending alerts.
