Rock Tech Gains 'Strategic Project' Status by European Commission

07:50 AM EDT, 03/26/2025 (MT Newswires) -- Rock Tech Lithium ( RCKTF ) , which jumped 22% on Tuesday, said on Wednesday that its Lithium Converter Project in Germany (Guben Converter) was selected from over 170 applications, as a "strategic project" under the EU Critical Raw Materials Act (CRMA).

The company said that Guben Converter will produce 24,000 tonnes of battery-grade lithium hydroxide annually. The CRMA is a cornerstone initiative aimed at securing resilient and sustainable supply of 17 critical raw materials essential for Europe's energy transition.

"We are honored to be recognized as a Strategic Project by the European Commission and remain fully committed to advancing a secure, sustainable, and independent lithium supply for Europe," said Rock Tech Chief Executive Dirk Harbecke.
