03:48 AM EDT, 08/12/2024 (MT Newswires) -- Rocket Lab USA ( RKLB ) said Sunday it had launched its 52nd electron rocket and deployed a Capella Space satellite into low-Earth orbit.
The company said the mission, called "A Sky Full of SARs," was Capella's fifth launch with Rocket Lab, following previous missions that deployed their synthetic aperture radar capabilities satellites.
The launch took place from Rocket Lab's Launch Complex 1 in New Zealand, the company said, adding that provided a custom extended fairing on electron to encompass the payload before Capella's satellite was deployed to space.
Rocket Lab also said its next electron launch date will be announced "in the coming days."
