Rogers Targets Newcomers With Program That Recognizes International Credit History

10:59 AM EDT, 08/28/2024 (MT Newswires) -- Rogers Communications (RCI-B.TO, RCI-A.TO) on Wednesday announced a new partnership with Nova Credit, a cross-border credit bureau, to help newcomers to Canada build credit and finance a new smartphone.

The company will now be able to offer newcomers maximum credit by considering their international credit history when applying for a Rogers Red credit card, which carries no annual fee. They can also take advantage of 0% interest financing on new Rogers devices through the Rogers Red credit card.

The service will recognize applicants' credit history from nine countries, -- Australia, India, Kenya, Nigeria, the Philippines, Spain, Switzerland, Ukraine and the United Kingdom. Rogers plans to expand the program to additional countries in the future.

Rogers A and B Class Shares were both last seen up modestly on the TSX.
