01:35 PM EDT, 06/12/2025 (MT Newswires) -- Rogers Communications (RCI-B.TO) on Thursday said has installed 63 new 5G cell towers in eastern Ontario since October as it expands the service into the province's eastern rural areas
A part of the EORN Cell Gap Project, a $300-million public-private partnership to enhance and expand cellular services in rural eastern Ontario. Rogers is building a total 332 towers under the initiative and upgrading other sites.
"We are proud to bring 5G services to more residents and businesses in Eastern Ontario communities, working with our government partners and the Eastern Ontario Regional Network," said Chief Technology Officer Mark Kennedy. "With 195 new towers and all 311 tower upgrades completed, more people in the region now have access to the largest and most reliable 5G network in Canada."
Rogers's Class B shares were last seen up $0.50 to $37.49 on the Toronto Stock Exchange.
