Roper Technologies Trails Fourth-Quarter Revenue Views, Issues Downbeat 2026 Outlook; Shares Tumble
Mar 11, 2026 1:53 AM

01:44 PM EST, 01/27/2026 (MT Newswires) -- Roper Technologies' ( ROP ) fourth-quarter revenue missed Wall Street's expectations, while the company's 2026 outlook indicates a slowdown in sales growth, sending its shares tumbling in Tuesday trade.

The software and technology company's revenue for the December quarter grew 10% year over year to $2.06 billion, trailing the FactSet-polled consensus of $2.08 billion. Adjusted per-share earnings rose to $5.21 from $4.81 a year earlier, while analysts expected $5.14.

For 2026, Roper is looking at revenue growth of about 8%, after reporting a 12% sales increase for last year. Analysts surveyed by FactSet are looking for $8.58 billion. The company said it expects organic growth this year of 5% to 6%, after last year's 5% gain.

"Organic growth this past year was below our expectations," Chief Executive Neil Hunn said during an earnings call, according to a FactSet transcript. "We're not starting the year assuming organic growth will inflect in 2026, despite the traction we believe we are starting to achieve."

The company's shares were down 13% intraday and have fallen 20% since the start of the year.

The company is guiding full-year adjusted EPS to increase to between $21.30 and $21.55, from last year's $20. Analysts are looking for $21.55. For the ongoing quarter, it anticipates adjusted EPS $4.95 to $5, below the consensus of $5.17.

For the December quarter, application software revenue increased to $1.16 billion from $1.06 billion a year earlier, while tech-enabled product sales rose to $473.6 million from $446.7 million. Network software revenue jumped to $426.1 million from $373.5 million.

Roper ended 2025 with adjusted free cash flow of $2.47 billion, up 8% from a year earlier.

The company is "well positioned to continue deploying capital, with significant M&A capacity, a large pipeline of attractive acquisition opportunities, and the flexibility to utilize our share repurchase program," Hunn said in the earnings release.
