04:46 PM EDT, 08/22/2024 (MT Newswires) -- Ross Stores ( ROST ) reported fiscal Q2 earnings late Thursday of $1.59 per diluted share, up from $1.32 a year earlier.
Analysts polled by Capital IQ expected $1.49.
Sales for the quarter ended Aug. 3 rose to $5.29 billion from $4.93 billion a year earlier. Analysts surveyed by Capital IQ expected $5.25 billion.
Ross Stores ( ROST ) said it expects fiscal Q3 EPS of $1.35 to $1.41 on comparable sales growth of 2% to 3%. Analysts expect EPS of $1.39 and revenue of $5.18 billion.
For fiscal Q4, the company expects EPS of $1.60 to $1.67 on comparable sales growth also of 2% to 3%. Analysts are looking for EPS of $1.66 and revenue of $5.96 billion.
For fiscal 2025, it expects EPS of $6.00 to $6.13. It previously projected $5.79 to $5.98. Analysts forecast $6.01.
Shares of Ross Stores ( ROST ) were up nearly 7% in after-hours activity.
