08:42 AM EDT, 04/15/2026 (MT Newswires) -- RTX (RTX) said Wednesday that its Raytheon unit has completed the initial airborne testing of a new sensor suite using a military helicopter.

The hardware recorded geographic features, including urban areas and shorelines without ambient light, while maintaining a 270-degree field of view, the company said.

The modular infrared and optical technology is built to integrate into various aerial, maritime, and ground-based vehicles, RTX said.

Assembly of the detection equipment will be done in Texas, with additional flight trials planned throughout the year, it said.
