05:15 AM EDT, 04/24/2024 (MT Newswires) -- RTX (RTX) business Raytheon said late Tuesday that it broke ground on a $115 million expansion of its Redstone Raytheon Missile Integration Facility.

The company said the 26,000-square-foot expansion will likely increase space for integrating and delivering on "critical defense programs by more than 50%."

The Redstone facility is the "final integration point" for many missile programs for the US Missile Defense Agency, US Navy, and other defense customers.

The facility opened in 2012, and its expansion will likely conclude in 2025.
