RTX Unit Collins Aerospace Completes Prototype Development of Power Controller, Distribution Panel

04:43 AM EDT, 10/28/2024 (MT Newswires) -- RTX (RTX) subsidiary Collins Aerospace said Monday it has completed prototype development of a solid-state power controller and power distribution panel as part of the SWITCH project, which is backed by the European Union's Clean Aviation Joint Undertaking.

The megawatt-class power distribution components will now be shipped to Collins' power systems lab for system integration testing.

The project is meant to advance hybrid-electric propulsion systems, which require new high-voltage distribution technologies to power aircraft.
