RTX Unit Pratt & Whitney Says It is Accelerating Development of XA103 Engine for US Air Force

08:59 AM EDT, 09/23/2025 (MT Newswires) -- RTX unit (RTX) Pratt & Whitney said Tuesday that it is accelerating the development of its XA103 engine for the US Air Force.

Pratt & Whitney said it is ramping up digital requirements for its supply base and internal teams to shorten development times, reduce costs, and increase design efficiency.

The company said it has invested more than $30 million this year to improve the accuracy of its propulsion design.

The XA103 engine is expected to begin testing in the late 2020s, the company said.
