08:32 AM EDT, 06/04/2025 (MT Newswires) -- RTX (RTX) said Wednesday that its Raytheon unit has been awarded a $1.1 billion contract from the US Navy to produce AIM-9X Block II missiles.

The company said the contract will boost annual production to 2,500 missiles.

The AIM-9X is an infrared-guided short-range missile that can be used in both air-to-air and surface-to-air roles.
