08:33 AM EDT, 05/18/2026 (MT Newswires) -- RTX (RTX) said Monday that it has won a contract from the Office of Naval Research to develop advanced software for radars.

Under the contract, Raytheon will develop software to allow Navy radars to perform multiple missions at the same time. The defense contractor said this enables the radar to rapidly adapt to changing needs and better share crowded frequency bands with commercial networks such as 5G.

After the software development is completed, Raytheon said it will conduct a series of demonstrations to validate independent control of radar modules and associated capabilities.
