11:38 AM EST, 12/03/2024 (MT Newswires) -- RTX's (RTX) BBN Technologies said Tuesday it is leading a team in developing a prototype photonic chip for a Defense Advanced Research Projects Agency program.

The unit said it is developing photonic, chip-scale quantum sensors that will be over 10 times more precise than current sensors. The sensors will have various defense and commercial applications, and are expected to disrupt fields including LiDAR, biosensing, network monitoring, navigation and communications, BBN said.
