11:02 AM EDT, 05/23/2024 (MT Newswires) -- RTX (RTX) said Thursday its Collins Aerospace unit was awarded a multi-billion-dollar subcontract as part of a team led by Sierra Nevada Corp. to design, develop and deliver systems and products for a new aircraft under the US Air Force's Survivable Airborne Operations Center program.

Financial details weren't disclosed.

The SAOC program is to deliver next-generation of the E-4B National Airborne Operations Center, offering military leaders a survivable aircraft to ensure performance of the National Military Command System.

Collins Aerospace is responsible for delivering multiple products under the contract, the company said.
