03:58 AM EDT, 07/22/2024 (MT Newswires) -- RTX's (RTX) Collins Aerospace said Monday that the European Union's Clean Aviation HECATE project has completed its Preliminary Design Review.

The HECATE consortium includes multiple European aerospace industry partners, including Collins, Safran, Airbus Defence and Space, Leonardo and several universities.

The company said Collins leads the project's steering committee through its Applied Research & Technology and Power & Controls sectors and achieved the Preliminary Design Review for power conversion and secondary distribution systems.

It added that Safran, which serves as technical coordinator, completed the Preliminary Design review for the primary distribution, power management systems, and cabling.

The company said the project is on track to reach TRL4 and undergo Critical Design Review by the end of the year.
