RTX's Raytheon Wins $250 Million Contract From Japan's Mitsubishi Electric

08:39 AM EDT, 06/24/2025 (MT Newswires) -- RTX (RTX) said Tuesday its Raytheon unit has won a $250 million contract from Japan's Mitsubishi Electric for licensed production of ESSM Block 2, a short to medium-range guided missile.

The company said that under the contract, Raytheon will provide missile kits, parts, components and technical support for missile production at Mitsubishi Electric.

The contract enables Japan to improve its domestic defense manufacturing and missile defense capabilities, the company said.
