LONDON, Dec 4 (Reuters) - Sabadell on
Wednesday won a London lawsuit against Cerberus Capital
Management over a property deal, being awarded just over 405
million euros ($425.1 million) including interest.
The Spanish bank, which is currently trying to fend off
a hostile takeover bid from BBVA, sued Cerberus at
London's High Court over a deal relating to portfolios of
Spanish real estate assets.
Sabadell alleged Cerberus was liable to pay millions of
euros under investment agreements signed in 2018 and 2019, which
were partly guaranteed by Cerberus.
Cerberus argued nothing was due but Judge Andrew Baker
said in a written ruling that Sabadell was entitled to be paid
roughly 358.5 million euros, and interest on that sum of around
47.4 million euros.
