Sable Offshore Planned Pipeline System Repairs Covered by Existing Permits, County Confirms
Feb 13, 2025 12:41 PM

03:18 PM EST, 02/13/2025 (MT Newswires) -- Sable Offshore ( SOC ) said Thursday it received confirmation for repair work on the Las Flores Pipeline System from Santa Barbara County, California, under existing permits that were reviewed in a previous environmental impact assessment.

The county's letter from Feb. 12 states that the anomaly repair work falls within already granted permits, including a Final Development Plan, Major Conditional Use Permit, and related Coastal Development Permits, the company said.

The county's planning and development department also informed the California Coastal Commission that these repairs are covered by existing permits and no further county action is needed.

On Feb. 11, the US Department of Transportation's Pipeline and Hazardous Materials Safety Administration notified the California Office of the State Fire Marshal that it does not object to the enhanced integrity standards for the pipeline, according to the company.

The OSFM's decision, dated Dec. 17, grants state waivers on certain cathodic protection and seam weld corrosion regulations for the pipeline, Sabe Offshore added.

Company shares were up almost 29% in recent trading.
