Sable Offshore Shares Decline Following Tentative Court Ruling in Favor of California Coastal Commission
Oct 15, 2025 4:23 AM

06:49 AM EDT, 10/15/2025 (MT Newswires) -- Sable Offshore ( SOC ) shares were down more than 30% in recent premarket activity Wednesday after a tentative court ruling denied a petition from the company and ruled in favor of the California Coastal Commission.

"Sable has not met its burden to show an abuse of discretion by the Commission in issuing the April 10 orders," Judge Thomas Anderle of the Superior Court for Santa Barbara County said. The company was seeking to nullify the Commission's violation notices and cease and desist orders.

The violations and cease and desist orders relate to Sable's work within a coastal zone of Santa Barbara, which the Commission found to be "unpermitted," according to the court document.

Sable Offshore ( SOC ) did not immediately respond to MT Newswires' request for comment.
