08:55 AM EDT, 09/04/2024 (MT Newswires) -- Saia ( SAIA ) reported Wednesday a 10.6% increase in less-than-truckload, or LTL, shipments per workday in July from a year earlier and a 7% increase in August versus a year earlier.

LTL tonnage per workday went up 5% and 8.2% for July and August from the same months a year earlier, respectively.

LTL weight per shipment decreased 5% in July and increased 1.2% in August from the same months a year earlier.

Shares of the company were up more than 9% in recent Wednesday premarket activity.
