Samsung Electronics says union's demand for pay increase was unacceptable

SEOUL, May 20 (Reuters) - Samsung Electronics ( SSNLF )

said in a statement on Wednesday that the company

could not accept the South Korean union's demand for a pay

increase, after the two sides failed to reach a deal during

government-mediated negotiations.

The company said the size of the increase that the union was

demanding at a loss-making division was unacceptable.
