07:49 AM EDT, 09/11/2024 (MT Newswires) -- Sanara MedTech ( SMTI ) and InfuSystem Holdings ( INFU ) said Wednesday their joint venture, SI Healthcare Technologies, agreed to be the exclusive distributor of ChemoMouthpiece's oral cryotherapy device kits.

Under the transaction, Sanara bought a 6.6% stake in ChemoMouthpiece for $5 million and drew $15.5 million on its term loan with CRG Servicing to fund the investment, the companies said in a joint statement.

The Chemo Mouthpiece device, which uses cryotherapy to alleviate oral mucositis in patients undergoing chemotherapy, will be marketed and distributed through InfuSystem ( INFU ) to about 3,000 cancer centers in the US, the companies said.

SI Technologies will have an option until Jan. 31, 2029 to purchase ChemoMouthpiece's US business and all the US intellectual property related to the product, Sanara and InfuSystem ( INFU ) said.
