Jul 29, 2024 8:41 AM

11:12 AM EDT, 07/29/2024 (MT Newswires) -- Sasol ( SSL ) said Monday the South African Department of Forestry, Fisheries, and the Environment on Friday told the company it approved its proposed concentration-based sulphur dioxide emission limits for its Secunda Operations' steam plants.

Sasol ( SSL ) said in a statement it will seek to amend its atmospheric emissions license to include the new limits in compliance with the ministry's decision.

According to the statement, the decision needs to be finalized by a "further regulatory requirement" to take effect.

The steam plants will start using an alternative load-based integration solution from April 1, 2025, to March 31, 2030, Sasol ( SSL ) said.
