SC criticises new OTT norms, says they lack teeth, power to prosecute

The Supreme Court has expressed its dissatisfaction with the new IT rules aimed at regulating OTT content. The court said that they lacked teeth or the power to prosecute. Centre has agreed to present a draft legislation to strengthen the law.

The apex court was hearing Amazon Prime's India head Aparna Purohit's anticipatory bail plea against the Allahabad Court order in an ongoing investigation against the web-series 'Tandav', reports Ashmit Kumar.
