SAO PAULO, June 20 (Reuters) - Truckmaker Scania said on
Thursday that it plans to invest 2 billion reais ($367.4
million) in Brazil from 2025 to 2028, a 43% increase in
investments in Latin America's largest economy compared to its
previous investment cycle.
Scania is the latest automaker to unveil plans to boost
investments in Brazil this year, following companies such as
Toyota ( TM )
,
Volkswagen
and
General Motors ( GM )
.
The Swedish truckmaker said in a statement that the new
investment puts it on the path to decarbonize its logistics and
transport ecosystems, without giving further details.
From 2021 to 2024, Scania injected 1.4 billion reais
into Brazil.
