TORONTO, July 23 (Reuters) - Bank of Nova Scotia ( BNS )
has appointed Anique Asher as its chief strategy and
operating officer, the latest senior level move under CEO Scott
Thomson who took charge early last year.
Asher, who previously was the executive vice president for
finance and strategy, expanded her mandate to include oversight
of capital management in September when Thomson made a series of
other appointments.
In her new role, Asher will be responsible for heading both
strategy and operations, and have oversight of communications
and marketing too, Canada's third largest bank by assets, said
in an update on its website.
A spokesperson confirmed the appointment, but did not
specify when the new role was officially announced.
Asher joined Scotiabank in 2018 as a senior vice president
and previously held senior roles at Canadian insurer Manulife
.
