07:20 AM EDT, 06/29/2026 (MT Newswires) -- Scotts Miracle-Gro ( SMG ) said Monday it has named Nate Baxter president and chief executive officer, as well as a member of the company's board of directors, effective immediately.

Baxter succeeds Jim Hagedorn, who had been CEO since 2001 and chairman since 2003.

The company also said that it has elected Independent Lead Director Pete Shumlin as chairman.

Shares of Scotts Miracle-Gro ( SMG ) were down 2.1% pre-bell.
