05:45 PM EDT, 03/16/2026 (MT Newswires) -- Seadrill ( SDRL ) said late Monday that Sonadrill, its joint venture with an affiliate of Sonangol, has been granted a contract extension in Angola.

A seven-well priced option for the ultra-deepwater drillship Sonangol Quenguela has been exercised, prolonging operations by about 480 days and committing the rig into June 2028, the company said.

Seadrill ( SDRL ) said it receives a management fee for offering managerial, operational and technical support to Sonadrill.
