07:43 AM EDT, 05/24/2024 (MT Newswires) -- The US Securities and Exchange Commission said Thursday it approved "on an accelerated basis" the applications of exchanges Nasdaq (NDAQ), Cboe (CBOE) and the New York Stock Exchange to list exchange-traded funds linked to the cryptocurrency ether.

The approved filings from the exchanges sought a rule change to allow listing of the ETFs, according to the SEC.

Potential issuers like BlackRock ( BLK ) and other companies that have filed applications are yet to get approval from the regulator.
