03:59 PM EDT, 05/07/2024 (MT Newswires) -- US Securities and Exchange Commission Chair Gary Gensler on Tuesday declined comment on whether Trump Media & Technology Group ( DJT ) is a funding vehicle for Donald Trump's presidential campaign.

"I'm not going to speak on any one company," Gensler told CNBC in an interview. "What's important is that their disclosures are accurate and that folks aren't in the market front-running or trading on insider information."

The SEC last week charged Trump Media's ( DJT ) auditing firm, BF Borgers, and owner Benjamin F. Borgers, for failing to comply with Public Company Accounting Oversight Board standards in its audits and reviews that were incorporated in more than 1,500 SEC filings from January 2021 through June 2023.

Following the SEC's move, Trump Media ( DJT ) hired a new auditor to replace BF Borgers.

Trump Media ( DJT ) shares were down 2.3%
