Redbook US same-store sales rose by 3.9% from a year earlier in the week ended March 23 after a 3.4% year-over-year increase in the previous week.
In corporate news, Krispy Kreme (DNUT) shares jumped more than 26% after agreeing to supply its doughnuts to McDonald's (MCD) restaurants in the US, as part of an expanded partnership agreement with the fast food giant. McDonald's shares were slightly up.
