01:34 PM EDT, 04/01/2024 (MT Newswires) -- Consumer stocks were lower Monday afternoon, with the Consumer Staples Select Sector SPDR Fund (XLP) decreasing 0.6% and the Consumer Discretionary Select Sector SPDR Fund (XLY) dropping 1.1%.

In corporate news, Trump Media & Technology Group ( DJT ) shares dropped more than 23% after reporting a full-year 2023 loss of $58.2 million, compared with earnings of $50.5 million a year earlier.
