08:48 AM EDT, 04/09/2024 (MT Newswires) -- Consumer stocks were edging higher premarket Tuesday, with the Consumer Staples Select Sector SPDR Fund (XLP) and Consumer Discretionary Select Sector SPDR Fund (XLY) each slightly higher recently.

Norwegian Cruise Line Holdings ( NCLH ) was 0.2% higher after it disclosed a new order for eight ships to be built by Italy's Fincantieri, representing about 25,000 more berths.
