08:53 AM EDT, 06/17/2024 (MT Newswires) -- Consumer stocks were down pre-bell Monday as the Consumer Staples Select Sector SPDR Fund (XLP) and Consumer Discretionary Select Sector SPDR Fund (XLY) were 0.4% lower recently.

Walt Disney ( DIS ) was up more than 1% after saying its Pixar Animation Studios film "Inside Out 2" generated $155 million at US box offices over the weekend, describing it as the biggest opening of 2024 thus far and the second-biggest animated opening after Pixar's 2018 Incredibles 2.
