03:28 PM EDT, 06/21/2024 (MT Newswires) -- Consumer stocks were edging higher late Friday afternoon, with the Consumer Staples Select Sector SPDR Fund (XLP) adding 0.2% and the Consumer Discretionary Select Sector SPDR Fund (XLY) up 0.3%.

In corporate news, American Rebel ( AREB ) shares skyrocketed 156% after it said Friday that it signed a distribution deal with Dichello to roll out its beer in Connecticut.
