01:50 PM EDT, 08/09/2024 (MT Newswires) -- Consumer stocks were higher Friday afternoon, with the Consumer Staples Select Sector SPDR Fund (XLP) increasing 0.1% and the Consumer Discretionary Select Sector SPDR Fund (XLY) adding 0.6%.

In corporate news, Getty Images ( GETY ) shares fell 6.5% after the company's Q2 earnings fell short of market expectations and it cut its full-year revenue and core profitability outlook.
