08:51 AM EST, 12/05/2024 (MT Newswires) -- Consumer stocks were steady pre-bell Thursday, with The Consumer Staples Select Sector SPDR Fund (XLP) inactive and The Consumer Discretionary Select Sector SPDR Fund (XLY) up 0.1%.

Signet Jewelers ( SIG ) shares were down more than 11% after the company reported flat fiscal Q3 adjusted earnings as sales fell during the period. The company also cut its fiscal 2025 guidance for non-GAAP EPS and lowered the top end of its revenue forecast for the year.
