01:30 PM EST, 12/12/2024 (MT Newswires) -- Consumer stocks were mixed Thursday afternoon, with the Consumer Staples Select Sector SPDR Fund (XLP) increasing 0.6% and the Consumer Discretionary Select Sector SPDR Fund (XLY) shedding 0.3%.

In corporate news, Warner Bros. Discovery ( WBD ) shares jumped almost 15%. The company on Thursday disclosed a new corporate structure aimed at unlocking additional shareholder value amid an "evolving media landscape."
