03:28 PM EST, 12/23/2024 (MT Newswires) -- Consumer stocks were mixed late Monday afternoon, with the Consumer Staples Select Sector SPDR Fund (XLP) down 0.7% and the Consumer Discretionary Select Sector SPDR Fund (XLY) adding less than 0.1%.

In corporate news, the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau said Monday it has sued Walmart ( WMT ) and Branch Messenger for allegedly forcing delivery drivers to use "costly" deposit accounts to get paid. Walmart ( WMT ) shares were falling 2.2%.
