03:29 PM EST, 12/31/2024 (MT Newswires) -- Consumer stocks were mixed late Tuesday afternoon, with the Consumer Staples Select Sector SPDR Fund (XLP) adding 0.1% and the Consumer Discretionary Select Sector SPDR Fund (XLY) down 0.3%.

In corporate news, Tyson Foods ( TSN ) plans to reopen its Camilla, Georgia, meat plant in phases following a fire last week that resulted in one fatality and multiple injuries, Bloomberg reported. Tyson shares added 0.4%.
