03:36 PM EDT, 04/01/2025 (MT Newswires) -- Consumer stocks were mixed late Tuesday afternoon, with the Consumer Staples Select Sector SPDR Fund (XLP) down 0.2% and the Consumer Discretionary Select Sector SPDR Fund (XLY) adding 0.9%.

Redbook US same-store sales rose by 4.8% from a year earlier in the week ended March 29 after a 5.6% year-over-year increase in the previous week.

In corporate news, Newsmax ( NMAX ) shares jumped 185%, extending gains after making their debut on Monday with an eightfold surge on the New York Stock Exchange.
