08:50 AM EDT, 04/03/2025 (MT Newswires) -- Consumer stocks declined premarket Thursday as the Consumer Staples Select Sector SPDR Fund (XLP) was down 1.4% and the Consumer Discretionary Select Sector SPDR Fund (XLY) recently fell by 5.3%.

Nike ( NKE ) shares were down more than 13%, a day after US President Donald Trump announced tariffs on several major apparel-exporting countries.
