Redbook US same-store sales last week rose 5.9% from a year earlier, following after a 4.9% increase in the prior week.
In corporate news, Ford (F) said its planned electric vehicle battery plant in Marshall, Michigan, is expected to meet the requirements for a US federal production tax credit, Reuters reported Tuesday. Ford shares were rising 1%.
