08:56 AM EDT, 07/17/2025 (MT Newswires) -- Consumer stocks were advancing premarket Thursday with the Consumer Staples Select Sector SPDR Fund (XLP) up 0.1% and the Consumer Discretionary Select Sector SPDR Fund (XLY) edging up 0.02% recently.

PepsiCo ( PEP ) shares were up more than 4% after the company reported fiscal Q2 core earnings and revenue that topped analysts' expectations.
