08:56 AM EDT, 08/05/2025 (MT Newswires) -- Consumer stocks were advancing pre-bell Tuesday as the Consumer Staples Select Sector SPDR Fund (XLP) was 0.2% higher and the Consumer Discretionary Select Sector SPDR Fund (XLY) was up 0.3% recently.

Yum China Holdings ( YUMC ) shares were up more than 1% after the company posted higher Q2 adjusted earnings and revenue.
