08:53 AM EDT, 09/18/2025 (MT Newswires) -- Consumer stocks were mixed premarket Thursday, with the Consumer Staples Select Sector SPDR Fund (XLP) easing 0.01% and the Consumer Discretionary Select Sector SPDR Fund (XLY) up 0.5%.

Darden Restaurants ( DRI ) stock was down more than 8% after the company reported fiscal Q1 adjusted earnings that missed analysts' expectations.
